There is no way to tell what's wrong with it unless you can find where it's leaking for sure. It could be the rubber boot that fits around the bottom of the tub, the tub itself may have developed a hole in it, a leaking water hose or a leaking drain hose. Turn it on and check, then call around to appliance parts stores and describe where the leak is and have the model and make handy. They can tell you what the part costs and then get back on-line and find DIY instructions from the washer manufacturer.

I've had washing machine leaks from assorted places over the years. Can you tell where water is coming from? Is it coming from a hose connection on the back? (you'll see bit of water around the hoses where they connect on the back of the machine, or on the faucet. Snug those up. If they still leak, replace them with new washer hoses (easy to find at a walmart or a hardware store).

Is the water coming from the back, near the bottom of the machine where the drain hose exits the machine? That clamp may be loose. Tighten it or replace the clamp.

If water is coming out only when you overfill the machine, it could be just splash that is making things wet: don't put so many clothes in the machine.

If water coming out from underneath somewhere, you have to look under the machine to see. It could be a torn hose, or a broken part. It could mean a service call.

check the washer at the tap for the hot and cold water. it might be leaking there or even where the hose goes into the machine. they are just a simple rubber washer to replace. unscrew the hose and pop the new washer in..replace hose onto tap

Check your hoses to make sure they are tight. Ours was plugged by a sock so the water wouldn't go through. And now I know why I come up with one sock every now and again.

Maybe the hoses need to be replaced? I think they only last like 5-6 years.
