You have to HIT the DELETE or F2 key at the right moment. If it does not go into Bios the first time, you have to turn the computer off and try again.
Here is the sequence....
Hit reset or Power On.
Dislays BLACK - few seconds
Displays Manufacturer's screen - several seconds
Displays STARTING WINDOWS - at this point, it is TOO LATE, so you want to hit the "enter Bios" button just moments before this.

If you can't get into the BIOS or Safe Mode then you may have a faulty keyboard or keyboard port on the computer that's not working properly. First power the troubled machine off and try swapping keyboards with the computer that does work, and try to get into the BIOS or Safe Mode. If it's a USB keyboard, also try plugging it into a different USB port. That's where I'd start. If that still doesn't get you anywhere, write back. Best of luck, GL

I have an old Toshiba Satellite notebook in the closet I don't use, but I do remember it had a weird button sequence to enter bios setup. I found that button sequence by web surfing as I remember. It wasn't the F1 thru F12 either.
Without knowing if you have a notebook or a desktop I'd say you are best served to surf for the answer because you got to the ask.yahoo page to ask this question.

You probably need to hit a key to enter the bios setup. This depends on the manufacturer of your motherboard but is often 'F2'.

there are many causes for this incident, start your computer , let it go into safe mode, if it stays, click on START,click on ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS , and then click on EVENT VIEWER, look for errors , it usually will tell you what is not working, hardware or software. Sometimes its better to reformat you hard drive with the disk utility's several times, and start over.if you have a disk utility that lets you writes zeros and ones to the disk, use it, then check the disk with check-disk . if you have software that you just can't lose, the check the EVENT VIEWER and re-post your question. good luck
