1 gigabyte = 2 to the 30th power (1,073,741,824) bytes. One gigabyte is equal to 1,024 megabytes.
Also
Megabyte
(1) When used to describe data storage, 1,048,576 (2 to the 20th power) bytes. Megabyte is frequently abbreviated as M or MB.

it's like this....8 bits in 1 byte.
1024 bytes in 1 KB
1024 KB in 1 MB
1024MB in 1 GB
1024 GB in 1 TB...so on and so forth
here is more complicated way to explain this.....
1 kilobyte (KB) 1,024 bytes
1 megabyte (MB) 1,048,576 bytes
1 gigabyte (GB) 1,073,741,824 bytes
1 terabyte (TB) 1,099,511,627,776 bytes
1 petabyte (PB) 1,125,899,906,842,624 bytes
Phew!!! Good Luck!
