On the back of the lawn mowers they use they have rollers. and depending on which direction you go over the grass it reflects of light differant ways giving it the apperance.

Well...if you're talking about the grass in the outfield, they mow lines in different directions. If you're talking about the white lines in the in field, they use chalk.

The lawn mowers have rollers that press the grass down shading darker or lighter depending on which angle you are looking from.

if ur talking about the grass they go one way the the mower and then the opposite way on the next line, like bak and forth and it depends on where u sit to see it, and the white lines are made with a line marker thing of which i cant remember the name of

Me, too. From what I understand, it is a combination of the height of the blade and the direction the mower goes in. Also think a roller might be involved.
