Music means emotion. I cannot listen to a song that does not sound like it has OR affects my mood. When I listen to a song I get caught up in it. If its a love song I can FEEL how I would feel if I had that special someone. If its a song based on something sad then I can feel how that person must feel. Like when I am in love with a women. I play allll the love songs in my mp3 folder. And it actually accentuates my love for that person. Just my 2 cents.

feelings...my escape... I can go into my little music world and listen or sing for a while and I feel better or more calm. Some days I just really want to listen to music with tons of passion, like that kinda makes you want to cry, but it's not sappy or cheesy... does that make sense at all? And music with a good beat is really great for when I wanna have fun

music lets me know that someone else is feeling my pain..because they also went thru it. Music lets me speak what i feel, if i can not find the words to say it. Music relaxes me in a way that i can fly. If it weren't for music, I would not be able to find the strength to go on. after a bad break up, after a bad heartache, after a big bad fight with your best friend, your parents, and you don't know what to do or where to turn to, turn on your music. Music inspires the soul to move with feelings of the heart.

Music is a fundamental human expression; I listen to it for countless reasons. I listen to different types for different reasons, but mostly what I listen to is not very popular. There is a sacred element to music and I often listen to it for its ability to make me feel something particular, or to put a particular set of feelings into perspective.
I'm also planning to leave the country and work/live overseas, in Russia...so I listen to a lot of Russian popular music in order to get more of a feel of how the Russian language works in a more popular Russian context.

That's a good question. I'm very aware how it means very different things to different people. For me it's very much a aesthetic experience. One in which I experience and embrace the atmosphere created by it. I also greatly enjoy dissecting it and appreciated the components and the talent that is used to make it on a technical level. This is very much reflected in the artists I like-- Loreena Mckennitt, Ray Lynch, early Enya, Peter Gabriel, October Project, etc.. I see other people for whom music is all about dancing or partying and these are completely alien to me.

Music means connecting with another person, hanging out around a campfire, laughing with my daughter, remembering favorite moments, driving cross-country, expressing emotion, learning something amazing, giving praise, acting silly, painting a picture of life.

Music is part of the spirit of my soul. The actual sound is non-verbal communication with soul, the expression of life.
