Mine has been working for 2 1/2 years, without a hitch. If you are both serious about not having any(more) children, then he should seriously consider it..... It is about a 20 minute procedure where all they do is slice the scrotum and go in. On the rare occasion, there is a minor pain on the second cut, because of the way the body transfers pain, but it subsides rather quickly. And it totally heals, generally, within a week or two and he would be able to use it again. If he is worried about not being able to ejaculate, well that is on old wives tale. Ejaculation still occurs, there just won't be any little swimmers to contend with.

It is definately the least expensive option (it only cost me my co-pay), comparitivelyspeaking. Because getting your tubes tied can literally cost in the 1,000's of dollars and is an extremely more painful operation, not to mention the recuperration time of months rather than weeks, plus there is more of a chance of infection and other difficulties stemming from that sort of operation.

If he still refuses, maybe you could just get on the DEPO shot. My wife was on it for 4 years before we decided to have kids, and also in between each child, until we decided to get pregnant again. Not only is it a pretty sure method of birth control, but it has a bonus for you..... Mild to NO period! My wife is actually on it again for that reason, because her periods and cramps were so painful, she was basically in tears for a week straight.

Good Luck. I hope he decides to do it.

Yes it works it's very 99.9% effective. Just talk to him about it tell him you have no desire for any more kids. List the reasons time, money, happy with the kids you have. Let him talk about his concerns get information from the internet for him to read. Something in a guys head makes them think if they get fixed they will be less of a man. You just need to reassure him that he will be fine. I find it even sexier now that my hubby got clipped because I can have sex w/him all day everyday and not have to worry about getting prego again!!
You need to talk everything out ask him "if I died tomorrow and you remarried are you ok w/not having anymore kids" that was the thing that clicked w/my hubby he said no I have two kids and that is all I can take care of. So he did it.
Tell him it's an easy procedure my hubby was out in an hour, the first few days his balls looked like purple baseballs but he had good pain meds and the swelling went away and he was fine.
If you don't have kids they may not let him do it. I have a single friend that tried to do it solo and they told him no. He said they wanted his kids birthdays/birt certs etc. But when my hubby went they didn't ask for any of that.

Most guys worry that it will affect their performance or "manhood" and I can say from direct personal experience it enhances both. The procedure is a 1/2 hour max with some discomfort when the doc administers the local, but it's not bad. Then you lie low for 2-3 days and you're back in business!

Firing blanks and enjoying every minute of it!! No worries of a condom breaking or any of that baggage - just enjoy!

Yep, it works. It has a very very low rate of failure.

You can encourage your husband by having him talk to other people who have had it done.

My husband did it and has no regrets. A day or two spent on pain pills and with a bag of peas on his privates.

A bag of peas conforms to all the nooks and crannies. Better than an ice pack....seriously.

My boyfriend has a vasectomy and it works for us. We're currently looking into getting it reversed. That didnt take much convincing on my part. Good Luck!

Yes it works, tho' as the doctor will tell you, you have to wait some time for the remaining sperm to leave the system.
Your husband should undergo it if he does not intend to have any more kids,(tho'it is reversible),and he can be assured that it will make no difference to him in ANY way!
good luck!

yes it works! the only reason my husband did it is because my big scary dad told him too or he would be taking care of the kids for 6 weeks by himself ( we have 3 kids) we're both 25 so he didn't want to because it was an ego thing!! it felt he would be less of a man. but he did it, the surgery was so easy (like 15 minutes) and he was fine the next day, he just had to take it easy for 1 week!! your hubby should do it. it's harder for us females to go through it!

Yes, it works great, but you can not reverse it if you want kids later on down the road. It is less invasive that a tubal for a woman, and there is no real pain, just some soreness for a few days. It is a great excuse to sit around the house with frozen peas on your balls, otherwise it would just be strange to sit with frozen peas on your balls.

it depends on how many children you have, their ages, health, you and you husband's age, current method of birth control, etc.
vasectomy is a permanent method of puting an end to have any more kids. reversible surgeries may not succeed, so talk to your husband, discuss about it. do not force it yourself on him. bettter consult a family planning health worker, what's good for you. you have to have atleast 1 child, qbout 3or 4 years old, in good health. another thing, after his surgery, you should not go and sleep with some body else, and get pregnant? that wil ruin your marital life.
