You should file all deeds with whomever out in Missouri accepts deeds for filing. Not sure why you wouldn't.

The term is "recorded" (usually). You would record it with the local agency to give notice to other people that it is owned by you (in case the person who sold it to you then sells it to another... depending on the laws of your state, the first person to record their deed could end up the true owner of the property).

Check with your local unit of government or a local attorney.

No, not at all. You file it (probably with the Register's office but I don't know the name of the county official in MO) so that others will know about it.
