I always thought that Germany had the most beautiful dolls and while I was there couldn't believe how delicate the faces were, then my daughter started last year to collect minature dolls from Japan and I just couldn't get over the detail and beauty. Just last night we were looking at a couple I got for her in Japantown in San Francisco this past week for her birthday, it was amazing these small little five inch doll with human faces and the hands and everything so exact and the detail on the dresses to the hair everything was perfect, I have been in awe of what I have found from there. So I have drawn this conclusion, Germany has the best porcelain baby dolls, and Japan has the best older figured character dolls.

China or Japan. They have the most beautiful dolls, the ones with the colorful, layered, detailed dresses. and they're really fun to play with, my little girl loves the one i got her when i went there for a vacation. The trip did the trick, she loves the doll so much, i won't need to take anymore vacations! But over there in Japan or China, you can find at least five beautiful dolls in EVERY store. Amazing, you don't see barbies in every store. =)

They have beautiful dolls in Germany. I used to go to the stores to just look at them. Everything is so perfect that they just need to move to convince you that they are real babies. They may cost around $500, so you can imagine.

China or Japan. Asia has some beautiful dolls and in Japan there is even a festival for them.
