stretching, ice for 20 minute intervals, no heating pads, those cause nerve swelling, bend with your knees not with your back, mobic or ibuprophen to reduce inflammation, and lie on the floor, and put your feet up on something like a low stool or a chair for at least one night if you can sleep like that, it helps alot, also as soon as you can tolerate activity go to the gym and use the roman chair to strenghten and stretch your back muscles

If you pulled it, it's probably swollen causing lots of pressure and therefore pinching nerves. I would take some Ibuprophen to help reduce swelling as well as pain. Then it's a matter of time before the muscle will heal itself.
To prevent doing this again, I suggest stretching before you do anything where you might be using this muscle more than usual.
Someone also suggested Yoga... that's a terrific idea. That way you'll always be stretched and ready for anything that comes your way.

Limit p[physical activity that would effect this part of the back . Use hot & cold on the area. At night it you can sleep with a heating pad on low and elevate your feet. An Aleive wont hurt either before you go to bed.
