I wanted to be a cop. Still do. the reason I'm not doing it is because i live in an area of the country where (believe it or not) the old chauvinistic attitudes still keep women out. The few that are in are there for show, and I definitely am not a statistic! I still have hope left and some faith in dreams coming true!! So everyone wish me luck!!

lol... a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader
and why not now? Cuz i'm a Redskins fan!!!
of course, i also wanted to be a long-haul truck driver (but no longer am fond of long trips), a veterinarian (but i've been chased by too many not-exactly-friendly dogs), a banker (too sedentary), and a teacher.
i'm working on the teacher bit now. but instead of high school literature, i'm going to be teaching college level composition.
so don't worry - the dreams change, shift focus, and get blurry sometimes, but look at it this way -- how often do you ever buy the first pair of shoes you try on??

When I was a kid, I wanted to be a paleotologist, a scientist that studies dinosaurs.
I lost interest in dinosaurs; the idea of being a paleotologist irks me because I'd be working in 110 degree weather in the desert and chances of finding anything good are rather slim.
Besides, I'm not very good in science and math anyway.

I wanted to be the first female president of the united states of america. So before I was 8 years old I had read all the biographies of the american presidants and other famous persons.
Unfortunately I was not born on U.S territory so that was/is impossible.
I did get to the first step however I did get a masters in law and an MBA.

I wanted to be a teacher. I had a stupid woman talk me out of it, she said there is no pay. Back then i allowed it to influence my future. How stupid. I have a special need son who is autistic. I tell you it has been a journey.. I sure have found the teachers that are there for the money and the ones that are there for the kids. But here i sit just a mom.. the hardest most demanding job of all !

I wanted to be a Doctor but financially couldn't achieve. I wanted to be a mechanic and I did. I worked 12 years in a steel mill to finally qualify for and apprenticeship and I worked hard and made it. You have to have a dream, but you also have to have the drive to see it through. I could have been that Doctor but I didn't want to be married to the military and someone else be in charge of my child. That put my child second. Somethings are more important and sometimes we have to keep our dreams and goal reachable. Have a good one:-) Just my opinion lol

I wanted to be an archeologist, it was an impulse which I got after reading a book about ancient Egypt or Rome or something like that. I found out a bit later what they did -- dig up artifacts, spend hours dusting and polishing them...sounded like a boring job. So there.

I wanted to be an actress, and I'm not doing it because I'm still getting a DEC in human sciences. I've also decided to change and go for teaching. That way, my dramatic attitude will be to capture a young mind rather than big bucks.

I wanted to be a teacher, but I realized I couldn't turn my back on 30 kids at a time. Then I wanted to be a pediatrician, but decided I couldn't stand to see children suffer. I made the mistake of becoming a lawyer--my father says I lack one major requirement--I don't shed my skin twice a year!

Unfortunately, I am doing exactly what I set out to do...still, it has its upsides. My "sense of mission" cannot be overstated... and while I''ve little question as to why I am here, there are times I wish I could take a break from all my agenda-based "promptings." We often fall victim to our own "self-made" purgatorys.
So, the moral of the story here is be careful what you wish for... sometimes, the proverbial "ignorance-is-bliss" thing holds true.So be forwarned before clicking on the link below to my group's 'blog' at blogspot.com (my little 'caveat'):
