I'd give practically anything for a horse, but I have nowhere to keep a horse and no money for medical care. As for Oracle's quote, in connection with "my kingdom for a horse," as opposed to any of the mafia movies, I'd say that "make him an offer he can't refuse" is from "Robin Hood, Men in Tights."

Well, if a horse would provide me with a means of escape from certain torture and painful death, I just might give my kingdom for a horse. Possessions and wealth can be replaced, my life can't.

No, because if I had a kingdom I could have lots of money, power, AND lots of horses.

If I were in Richard's place, where he was about to lose both his kingdom and his life, I'd do it--if he had the horse, he might at least be able to escape with his life!

Yes! i'd hate ruling over people, i'd ride on the horse to some forest and live in the forest, happy and in harmony with nature!

Put into context: Richard knew that unless he got a horse - and quick - he was dead. In his shoes, it must have seemed a good trade - not that it worked.

I might even teach about iambic pentameter with it.

The full quote is a perfect, clear example of the form. :)
