If you must ask the question then you are inquisitive as to what is considered abuse as what is approached to you.
Simple and foremost Abuse was once categorized by multiple uses of many things that could be harmful when done in excess, but when it comes to child abuse it can vary in many forms, but one that most contemplating is when the child say "I fell of the swing". or I slipped and fell". These are very good excuses for a child to hide the abuse, but a child for the love of their parents or to whom does the abuse is never confronted about it. Today's laws when a child goes to school with Marks and bruises Family and Children Services are notified and then an investigation not conviction, but investigation is done to determine if abuse is being done at the child's home to her or him.

Child Abuse is categorized by three names
Mental Abuse
Physical Abuse
Sexual Abuse

The last time I seen a man slap a child and knock her down,. I put him in the hospital and I went to jail and paid his medical bills. When you see abuse call the Police because that's why they are there. Do not take the law in your hands as I did, because it financially cost me over $10,000 when it was over, but I still had the satisfaction of ripping that guy apart for hitting a Little girl.

I actually did a speech for my speech class last semester on child abuse. One really good website I used for a source was www.childhelpusa.org. It gives specific definitions and types of child abuse.

All questions on morality, abuse, devotion, religion etc are relative..

What's abuse in US could be the way of life in Afganistan....

So don't expect unanimity in answers to this one unless all answers spring from one corner of the world...

Abuse is when a child is disciplined unecessarily or to an extreme (leaving bruises). I believe spanking is effective if it is done right.
