There is a brake in the seal with the Argon sealed gas chamberr between two plates of glass and the difereence of temp inside and out causes condinsation inside the window. To fix it, Just replace it.

The thermal seal has failed. The manufacturers create a thermal seal between the panes of glass so air (or argon gas) is trapped between the panes. This provides better insulation for heat and cold as well as sound. Condensation is a sure sign that the seal has failed. There is no easy way to fix the seal, other than replace the window. You may find a company that will just replace the double paned glass with a factory seal, but it's nearly impossible to repair the existing glass.

That means, like someone else said, the seal on the window has broken down. There are gaps that allowed to moisture in. You obviously cant clean in there; unless you want to destroy the entire window. I guess the only solution is to get new windows.
Okay, so youre renting, and condesation in windows is not pretty. The person below me recommended etching to cover it up. But I dont think the owner of the house will like that very much. I doubt the owner will really care enough to come by to fix it or replace it. it isnt in much ways changing or putting in danger the structure of the house. So you can't do much, except put your own money out to change the window of a house you dont even own.

Check the seals on the panes. Condensation is usually caused by a broken seal, which allows moisture between the panes of glass.

Everyone is correct - the seal is broken. I had a double paned sliding glass door that did this, and I didn't want to buy a new one, so I used the spray on etching stuff, and taped off a design first. Looks really good, and hides the yukky condensation look.

first off just the double pane unit is replaceable. the reasons they fail are numerous. there is something called desicant in the spacer netween the two panes and it gets used up after a while. it could be you have too much humidity in your house. call a glass company in your area and have them come out and give you a quote on replacing the glass then call a window company and have them give you a quote. the technology on double pane units is far superior and now you can get 20 yr warrantys.

There is gas beteewen the panes so you have a leek somewhere and you really can't fix it without getting a new window

The seal which keeps the window energy efficient, has been compromised. You will have to replace this window. I would do it sooner rather than later as the moisture may be damaging the wood around the window.

It means you have a leak somewhere in the siding where the windows are installed. (Learned this on House Detectives on the HGTV network) Not sure what you can do about it except maybe call someone to come and look at it and repair it.

Seal failure! Call a glass company, most know how to take the sash or sashes apart and replace the glass only!
