Every city that has a Humane Society always needs volunteers. Go down and volunteer your time to help with the animals. This will give them a much needed service and it will give you the opportunity to see if working with animals is something you really want to do as a job, every day. Many times, good volunteers get hired on or they can direct you to facilities that need help. I just suggest you do a trial in this area, to see if it's a good fit for you.

be conscious about, to work with animals isn't always fun and cute. most of the time u'll have to deal with sick animals. that's really tough. think about to become a vet, or to work in the zoo. before you start, make a voluntary, and get your own opinion about. also there you'll find out, which kind of professions do exist in this field, and what is required to begin the study.

you can go army and be a vet care specialist, like someone mentioned above. if you want, you can go to a veterinary technician school (or go to a school that offers this course), and you could be a vet tech that works at a vets office. also, working at an adoption place, etc.
