I have had 4 pregnancies and all the drs I had who delivered told me that it is hard to hear a baby's HB before 12-16 weeks but can be viewed on an ultrasound because the baby sits so low.

I was so scared. I went in to the doctors at 6 weeks or 7 and they could not hear the heart beat... so they did an ultrasound and saw the baby and the heartbeat. I didn't hear the heart beat until I was about 14 to 15 weeks, and it was very faint, it was 160 beat per minute. It was sooo awesome. I wish you luck, and don't worry...that puts stress on the baby.

For some women it is hard to hear the babys heart beat. They couldn't ever hear my sons, but he came out fine...and I had alot of ultrasounds because of it. There are a few factors that can cause it. In your case, the heart may just be too small to hear. It is harder to hear the heartbeat of a baby in bigger women, and in my case I had too much amniotic fluid for them to hear the heartbeat through.

My dr did an US at 9 weeks and we heard the babys heartbeat. But if this didn't happen to you it doesn't mean there something wrong, I know different relatives that weren't able to hear it until later (16-20 wks)

Dont worry, Good luck

the feetal heart activity can be observed and measured by ultrasound as early as the 5th or 6th week. i have had patients that were referred to me for ultrasound because their OBs had a hard time hearing the fetal heart beat during the 1st trimester. assuming that you are really 9-11 weeks along the way, then an ultrasound should be able to detect the fetal heart activity easily.

9 - 10 - or 11 weeks it is prob. still too early to hear the heart beat, they will be able to see it on ultra sound though, relax it is normal,

Yes, they did an internal ultrasound. It is more sensitive.
