After you have been legally joined by someone legally able to preform he joining. Lots of couples consider them selves to be married just be being together, but they are not truly, legally married till it is done according to the local laws.

I believe it is all up to the individual. I have been in a relationship for 10 years and one day will marry for marriage.

Marriage is recognized by the state. Either the local town clerk can pronounce you married or an officiant. Good luck!

When you actually say "I do" and have that paper call a marriage license sign/witness and turned in the courts. Then you are officially married.

In my book you are not married till you say I do. I have meet alot of people that claim they are married and are just shacking up, there is nothing wrong with it but you are misrepresenting your relationship.

when you get married by someone who is authorized to marry you. a priest,father,etc.. or a judge or captain of a boat if legal.
