How in the hell can I get waterproof mascara off my eyelashes without ripping them out? I've tried baby oil, lotion, vaseline, and soap and water with no results. But, I have to wear this kind because I already have dark circles under my eyes, so I don't use the other kind because it will smear under my eyes before the end of the day. Does anyone have any good home remedies or good ideas? Thanks all!

I tried the baby shampoo and it didn't work at all. What I use is Almay gel, it's specifically made for waterproof mascara. Just put some on your finger, carefully rub over your eyelashes, then tissue off. I always then wash my eyes with Noxema to remove any residue. It's about the only thing I've found that works. I don't like the liquid stuff you put on with cotton balls, the little fibers from the cotton get stuck in my eyelashes. Good luck!

I use waterproof mascara as well, and I've found that Mary Kay's Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover works the best. I've used way too many products over the years that have oil in them. Terrible for your skin.

I also had this problem, but I asked one of the ladies at the makeup counters about it and she recommended me to use baby shampoo. I tried it and it totally works! Pond's Cold Cream works as well and, although this may seem a bit wierd, Wet Ones (Hand and Face) are wonderful. Just be careful to not get any soap in your eyes!

Yeah, oil free eye makeup remover is the way to go. Read the directions on the bottle, you soak a cottonball and press it to your eyelashes for a few seconds and wipe clean.

The Body Shop gentle camomile eye make up remover, apply with damp cotton wool pad and let it soak into the lashes, it may take a couple of applications but this really does work for me and I am a consultant who does make overs and have had training!

A good eye makeup remover should do the trick.

Any type of oil-free eye makeup remover.
Preferably alcohol free, as well,
especially if you have sensitive skin.
