A test would be good. That way people that think there are 53 states, or 4 branches of the government, or that Benjamin Franklin was a president would not be allowed to vote.

By God, I think everyone should pass not only a general knowledge test, but an I.Q. test as well. Because some of these people's parents obviously snuck into the gene pool when the lifeguard wasn't looking.

A general knowledge test wouldn't be necessary if we actually had a decent education system in this country and taught people how to think critically.

Yes, everyone should be entitles to vote. If we are a government for the people , by the people and of the people then the people must be able to vote and not just those people who the ones in charge deem worthy of voting. We are a democracy and in a democracy everyone has a voice.

No, if you give a test there would not be very many repuglicans voting. They are the most mentally deficiant of the population and I can prove it. They not only voted for Bush once but they did it twice. It seems if they had been smart they would have learned from their mistakes.

Be careful with this idea. A corrupt government could make the test so hard that hardly anyone could vote... or they could choose questions that would be easier for the types of people who would vote for them to answer.

We the voters are actually making someone pass the selection. Have you ever heard that the examiners pass any test.

everyone who can provide identification proving they are the owner of the voter registration card should be able to vote. if they cannot read, they will have a hard time. as long as they are registered, they should get to vote.
