It depends what you download.
Most music on limewire will be illegal to download, although the truth is you will stand little chance of ever being caught

Actually if you download a copyrighted music file now then the music companies will not even bother with you atall, they are only chasing large scale uploaders/sharers at the moment.

There is however plenty of music, games, software and movies available over limewire that is free from copyright and which you can legaly download and share with others.

Also, to the person above. allofmp3 is not legal to use in the uk and is currently bieng investigated by the russian authorities as to its legailty over there.
The limewire program is fully spyware free, there is however a lot of viruses going around the limewire network using names of popular music and movies so always scan ANYTHING you download from there!

Music that is downloaded from anywhere but the official sites that are sanctioned by the record companies is illegal!

The day will come when the Limewire site will be closed down like the others that have come and gone before it. You also need to be very careful when getting music from there as I know more than 10 people that have received viruses with the files they downloaded from there.

Just be really careful and go for your life while you still can.

NO- AND IF YOU ARE CAUGHT YOU COULD BE FINED £4000 TO £5000. ALSO BE AWARE THAT AS THE MUSIC COMPANIES HAVE MORE OR LESS SORTED OUT THE ILLEGAL MUSIC SITES THEY ARE STARTING TO TURN THEIR ATTENTION TO INDIVIDUALS LIKE US!
ALSO THE QUALITY OF WHAT YOU DOWNLOAD FROM LIMEWIRE IS ERRATIC AND CAN BE AWFUL. YOU ALSO DOWNLOAD SPYWARE AS PART OF THE DEAL WHICH CLOGS UP YOUR WHOLE SYSTEM. YOU CAN ALSO DOWNLOAD VIRUSES WHICH CAN MEAN HELL TO PAY.
