Boyfriend: no - you are not completely committed at this point. He does not need to know every aspect of your life. If he gets upset consider dumping him, because he may have control issues.
Husband: - yes - there can be no secrets between spouses. You married your spouse as the one and only. If you expect to have internet friends, be sure your spouse knows this before you are married.
Both me and my wife have each others passwords. We agreed to this.
It keeps honest people honest.

I would make up a new email account and give them that password. Or just say no.

No! My correspondances are my own business. Besides which, I often use my personal email for work purposes which contain sensitive information that cannot be shared with the general public. If he has trust issues, that's his problem! He won't get closure by reading my messages, nor will he trust me more for letting him.
Fortunately, I don't have that problem. My boyfriend is wonderful and we trust eachother completely.

I would, but he is a man! LOL
I love my husband dearly, but sometimes he does treat me like a 'ditsy female!' And although I have tried to re-educate him over the years that this is not nice, LOL, he still has his moments.
But you know what, we share the same computer and he and I share our email all ready! LOL See?? I am ditsy some times! hehehe!

No I wouldn't for two reasons:
One: my private email is simply that--private, something I have a right to.
Two: I'd make it a test--tell hubby or bf "no" and see if he's grown up enough to respect my right to privacy. If he throws tantrums, maybe that's the cue to perhaps be ready to "trade up" what needs showing the door.

No - you share so much in a relationship, why should you give up your privacy too.
But then it does look like you have something to hide - lets just hope he never asks!!!
