Not even sure this "rule" still applies, but if guys get a single ear piercing, then left is straight, and right is gay.

I pierced my left ear 35 years ago. You had to be sure then! Right is Gay.

When I had my earing (80's) You were cool if it was on the left, gay if on the right and gay if in both ears.
It's different now, I don't think it matters. I've seen straight guys with earrings in both ears.

i can't remember 100%.. but when i went to have my cartilage done, i was told to do the left side because the right is the gay side.... i'm assuming that means it would be the right side for both...

I always heard right meant the "gay" side. However, I have never heard any of my gay guy friends scoping out lobes to know who to hit on.....

left is pirate or seafaring
but now a days i don't think it means that - i've seen guys with huge diamonds on both ears and they don't apear to be gay at all
