Brooke! Your only 11 years old, and your body will be comming up sooner or later to a time when alot of changes occur (eg Puberty) and 11 years old is far too young to be worrying about how you look. Its more about fun, getting out. But if you are worried you might be fat either go see your family doctor, or start exercising more (not to a state your depleting your daily nutritions) and just remember your only 11 years old. Far too young to worry about image its more about hanging with friends; concerntrating on schooling and don't even let the guys interfer you'll have plenty of time for that in your high school years. So good luck

Brooke, at 11 years old this should not be one of your concerns. If you are extremely overweight, then join a sports team and start to eat healthy. Your body is going to go through A LOT of changes over the next few years, so long as your eating right and getting some exercise don't worry about it. Take care!

I know it's annoying, but just wait for a bit! When I was 9, I started to put on a lot of weight, and ended up being quite chubby, and continued being like that through to about the age of 17. Now, at 18, I've in fact put on half a stone, but my body shape has changed, and everybody thinks that I have lost weight, so just wait a while, and you may find you get what you wanted without even trying! Just make sure you get regualr exercise, and eat the right things. Tip: too much salt makes you look fatter because it makes you retain water, eat less of it by not buying pre-packaged ready-meals and fake cheese. Eat healthily, with loads of greens, and fibre will do a lot of work for you.

You haven't told us whether or not you are overweight. The CDC has a calculator at http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/dnpabmi/Calculator.aspx that you can use to figure this out. If you are overweight, you should not go on a diet without consulting a doctor because at age 11 you are still growing so it is important to eat the food you need to grow properly. There are things you can do short of a reducing diet that should help you be healthier whether or not you need to lose weight. One is to improve the quality of your diet. If you snack on soda and chips, switch to carrots and celery. If you pour gravy all over your plate, leave it off. The U.S. government publishes a pamphlet on healthy eating at http://www.health.gov/dietaryguidelines/dga2005/document/pdf/brochure.pdf. The other thing you can do is exercise. This is harder for girls than for guys. They always seem to be able to find somebody for basketball and their parents let them go down to the courts by themselves. I don't know what is available to you. Climbing stairs is pretty boring, but usually easy to find. Maybe you have a friend who will play basketball with you. Jogging around the block is good if you live on a safe block. If you have the money, dance classes are good. Good luck and be healthy.

Hey Brooke, Sweety, you are so young. Right now the last thing you should be worried about is your weight. But, I do know of a young girl in my family who was getting a little bit stout. She began walking every evening. She shed so much weight. I was surprised, and happy for her. So, I would suggest, walking, walking, and more walking!

I am assuming you mean 'weight'?
And to lose weight, eat healthy and excersize, that's really the best way.
