Here's a link, if you haven't heard of it before. You be the judge. http://www.drlwilson.com/Articles/Indigo%20Children.htm

There's also a test floating around the web--it goes more in depth. However, just from looking at these basic attributes, it seems like anyone with ADD or bi-polar disorder (I have both) could be classified as an "indigo".

Why can't we just let our kids be kids? Why do we have to treat them as something more than what they are? My folks knew I was precocious, but they didn't jump to the conclusion I was a child of the stars, for Hastur's sake!

Oh, by the way, this site doesn't go into some of the more...uh...unusual beliefs associated with this concept--that indigos are actually alien/human hybrids sent from our benevolent space brothers to save the human race...

I hear you. We need to stop labeling our children and realize that each child is an individual with individual personallity traits that need to be guided and nurtured. Parents could do a lot better by spending more time with their children and observing their specific traits than they can by reading 100 different books with 100 different theories.

I like "indigo" better than "weird", "freaky", "wrong," or "in need of medication", put it that way. We need to encourage the quirkiness and intelligence of our children. However, I'm not sure if this is the way to do it.

By the way, my brother and I would both have been considered "indigo." When someone told my mom this, she sarcastically responded, "No, she's sort of yellow and he's more pink." :-)

We're Americans. We're the first ones to put names on everything. We have enough food and basic necessities, and we have enough free time to start worrying about things like this. It isn't the first name to get thrown around, and it won't be the last. I personally don't put much stock in this kind of thing.

Very interesting. I am definitely against putting kids on any sort of medicine like Ritalin or Prozac.

There's a name for everything, and everything must have a name.

I think it's all about making yourself feel better. If you don't want to admit that your child is a brat or has problems, make something up.

lol alien/human hybrids ...
I guess if they start to notice them with that label than it should be because of the only one reasonable reason of evolution ... and that's quite cheering
