Many of my friends have moved away in the last 3 years and I have noticed that I have no one to really have 'girl time' with. I work for my parents small company, and there is no interaction with anyone my own age. My husband's friends are all guys who are single, and I am wits end on how to meet some new people. I am not trying to sound pathetic here, but it would be nice to get out once in a while.... thank you!

What kind of things do you like to do? Any hobbies. Look to get involved in some groups with similar interest as yourself,. If you like sewing, check into local sewing clubs or needlepoint. If you are into sports try out for a female soccer league or ball team or bowling league, even golf? How about your church, any activities there where you could join in and make new Friends. Do you have kids? If so get them involved in things like sports, dance, Cubs or Brownies. That way you can meet others and have something in common all ready and it would be easy to start a conversation.

Join a gym like the YWCA, a church, a women's club (like for the city you live in), a book club.... There are plenty of things to do in cities - they usually have a calendar of events on their website and you can meet people there.

Good luck! I know how hard it is to meet people when you or your friends move away.. I recently moved too, and i only have 2-3 friends (not even CLOSE friends) that i have met since i have been here. I havent given myself too much time yet though!

I know how u feel. Just try to do something you like. You could start going to the gym or taking like some dance classes. Just something basically to keep u busy and something that would be fun. Go out shopping. Get yourself involved with something that other woman do. Good luck!

Southern Bell, i know the feeling. I would have to say, when you go to lunch, go to the same place every day you work. The people will get to know you, and gradually, you will get to know some of them, and maybe you can find a friend there. If you are from south mississippi, my ya---o id is cathygunter4577
You can im me and we could chat, and i could give you a few more ideas.

Try joining some kind of women organization. Go out to the club. don't just sit around. Be active. If you sit around and mope because you don't have friends you will become depressed.

try developing some female interests, such as taking a crafting class at a local craft store, etc. target things that are going to attract women, not men.

you need to reach out and find groups that interest you. find the local paper that tells you what is going on in your area. it most likely tells you of events and group meetings that might help you find those new friends.
