its accepted world wide nowadays to change your citizenship so fifa cannot say that you wont play for that country because you weren't born there. what if you were born in one of the africans countries but your parents are of european decent, would that make you an african unless you want to change your citizenship? hell no. its the same with most players esp in france that were born in france but their parents decided to change their citizenship. they have never known another place as home except where they were born.

Ringers? So when children's parents immigrate when the kid is 8 years old and the kid gets dual citizenship then the kid is a ringer?

Zidane for example wanted to play for Algeria but the coach didn't give him a spot. What a godsend for France no?

Yea you just got to be a citizen, but in most cases if your a citizen you were born there!

Ex: Zidane is a citizen of Alegeria (parents are from there) and France (he was born there) so he could have played on either team but of course he chose France!

They do require that they be a citizen. I don't understand the reason for being born in a country that should make a difference. People move, eh?

I think you just need to be a citizen of that country. I believe Camaronesi was born in Argentina but his father is of Italian descent, thus he was able to get an Italian citizenship
