They already do here in Houston, TX. It's called Westpark and the Beltway toll roads. Never mind they were only supposed to charge money for the Beltway until the construction costs had been recouped. They seem to have forgotten that small detail. Metro does not want to see that cash cow stop producing, so they can waste more money on useless things like our Light Rail system that people can not seem to stop running in to the damn thing. I remember when it first started a Metro Bus collided with the Light Rail, I thought that was rather amusing until I figured out that one way or the other this was all coming out of our pockets.
Don't get me wrong I'm thankful for our bus system when I am broke and need to get around, but I think most of the big wigs at Metro need to be fired and filled with folks that at least have a background in common sense.

because the elite and the non-elite are both citizens of a country that believe in the equality of all people rich or poor, white or black, gay or straight. building a free way lane for the mega rich is like favoring a few which is unfair. the government is by, for, of the people so the government must see to it that its people is given equal oppurtunity.
the elite people already have so much to enjoy. why do they still want to own a piece of the road? get a helicopter instead!!!

Everyone must obey traffic laws. If one must wait for the green light, all must wait for the green light, except fire department, ambulances etc...
If they build freeway lanes for the "mega rich", the "mega poor" can use it as well.
Sounds "mega dumb".

Oprah, you misspelled your name. But I wholeheartedly agree with you! We need a lane just for Maybachs, Rolls Royces, Ferraris, and Lamborghinis. Anything over $100,000. The toll for this lane should be a reasonable $100 a mile because we know that is pocket change for you. You go, girl!

Why do they deserve special consideration? They are no better or worse than anybody else-so let them wait too. If you are going to masquerade as the real Oprah the least you can do is spell her name correctly!! Geez!

Well.... it's is called the FREEway for a reason. It was built so that the peons can get from place to place to serve the mega-rich.
