Okay, granted, it's a common name, but I think I read this somewhere, it's just a surprisingly disproportionate number. And them all having a middle name- that is 90% true.)

Because John is the most common male name. Simple probability. Besides, no idiot would think ALL gangsters and murderers are named John. How about Al Capone, ever heard of him? Jimmy Hoffa? ANY sicilian gangsters? C'mon.

You must understand that crime that happen all over this world and many many of those gangsters are not named John. some of them are named Hitler or Stalin, And I am sure that Some of the leaders from china like the Chins or Ming's and the Roman empire And Genghis Khan are not named John, either........
P.S. And lets not forget Geronimo. Or some of the leaders of the great Indians wars Nor should we forget the Spanish conquers. And not one of them were named John..........

The name John is just common I think. A larger percent of the population has the name John, so a larger percent of freaks are named John.
