In my area I like Highland Park Market, It's a little on the pricey side but lots of fresh meats and etc.

Wonderful prepared foods as well.

As for best place to buy things I love. Well I like K-Mart as an alternative to Walmart.

Food Lion. My favorite shopping place is a little store called Along the Way. It has used solid wood furniture, interesting little pieces, and some antiques.
