Can anyone tell me what they know, or think they know, or have heard about Avalon? Just taking a poll for my book.

Avalon is supposedly where three queens took King Arthur to heal him when he was supposed to have died. In Celtic, the word translates to "Isle of Apples." That might mean that there were apple trees found on the island. The Isle of Man, in the Irish Sea, has a reputation for such a mild climate that apple trees bloom all year, so it's possible that what the legend meant was that three queens took him to the Isle of Man to bury him. The three queens might have been Guinevere, his sister Morgan Le Fay, and his mother Ygraine.

There's a great movie out there called "Avalon" that was produced by a Japanese director but filmed entirely in Polish with Polish actors. I know Netflix has it (subtitled in English) - you may be able to find it elsewhere, too. It's an excellent film, and deals tangentially with aspects of "Avalon" in the symbolic sense.
