Because they aren't allowed to keep one at home, or the cigars are so expensive that they don't want to take the chance on ruining them?

well..its kinda real simple...

a person that wants only a cigar that is fresh will have the cigars that are purchased and shipped to the tobacco store under de-humidified conditions will get the cigar in a better way if its immediately decanted into a container to hold it until the owner can transfer it to their own humidor.
