If you know who the phone number that is calling you is and if you are on the no-call list, you can report them for a violation. Charities, surveys, and companies you have an ongoing relationship with are legally allowed to call people. However, if you ask them to put you on their no call list, they must do so.

I'm not sure what you would do in the case of a number where no one says anything. I would try to find another number for that company and call them. As I said above, if you ask a business to put you on their no call list, they must do so.

Yes they do but it doesn't work very well, I get 10 calls a day sometimes trying to sell me stuff that I don't even want. I think you can trace the call for free and when you find out who it is and maybe turn them in to the government and in 100 years of so they might do something about it.

The do not call list only works on US based businesses. The fifty phone calls a day you get from a call center in India will only stop if we discover India has large oil reserves, declare it a terrorist nation, and nuke Mumbai.

If you have the number on your Caller ID, call them and tell them you have reported the activity. Usualy just the Thought of official response will stop such things.

This only works for telemarketers. If it is a creditor, they can still call you.
