Zidane doesn't require any sort of title, prize, ball, medal etc etc. All are merely tokens. He'll remain in the heart of billions of football lovers around the world. He's among a few football immortals.

zidane was not the culprit (in any case the first). Italian drew his shirt and zidane told him that he'd give it to him after the match if it wanted it. then zidane advanced and the Italian insulted his mother and sister (not only once) .and these repetitive insults pushed him to give a blow of head.do you believe that a man who is elected coolest of the world fifa would have dared to do that because he just liked to do it, whereas his team carried out the match??? (if you think that yes you are not a human being): the words make often more evil than the gestures because they remain!

I really doubt it. He ruined his entire reputation with that move. 100 years from now people were going to say "hey wasn't zidane that incredible soccer player with the potential to do almost anything!"...but now they'll probably say "hey wasn't zidane that freak who ruined his rep, by ramming an italian player with his head at the 2006 fifa world cup final"!!!

He hasn't been stripe of the title yet FIFA has to investigate first but after that I don't think he deserves it, to be a great player you have to also have sportsmanship! Plus I really think the only reason he got it is because he's retiring!

he hasn't officially accepted it and i doubt he'll do so now. same with the second place medal given to france. he didn't collect it saying he doesn't deserve any medal after his outburst. maybe he thinks being able to stand up for his pride, honor, name etc. is its own reward. can't argue with that.
