eBay doesnt work because even though its in mid condition, it may have defects in it. Japan wont be a good one unless you want to spend lots of money to get there. Where to buy? If you want a good quality PS2, then buy in stores that has used ones to make sure they're not defective. AT LEAST YOU SEE THEM WHEN YOU BUY IT. Unlike eBay where you just think it might be good because of the description they give. But if you really want a cheap one, go on eBay. Hope this answer helps.

If you're looking for a used one which you can get cheaper than a new one, try Gamecrazy or Gamestop. But if you want a new one, the best place to go is Circuit City. A good starter game (fighting) is Mortal Kombat, if you're into that kind of thing.

You know, it's almost time for the full-load of next-gen consoles... I know they cost more, but you could wait just a bit longer and have the choice of the Nintendo Wii, PS3, or XBOX360... I have a 360 and would never go back to my PS2 or Xbox... and I'll probably get a Wii... then again, I'm probably way more into gaming than most.

try www.gamestop.com and www.ebgames.com both will give you the greatest bang for your buck. As far as the starter games go try any of the Greatest Hits titles. These can usually be purchased for less than $20. They have titles such as Grand Theft Auto and Final Fantasy X.
