What you propose is preposterous. If you have EVER spoken with a prostitute you would know they feel degraded, hate what they do, and want out.

As a libertarian I only see a huge drain on the public treasury whenever I hear about all the man hours police spend busting hookers and throwing them in jail. Instead, we could be taxing them and leaving them be. Prostitution will NEVER go away, it just changes forms. The fundie "family values" view of marriage is identical to prostitution - if you want sex, you gotta sign your entire life away, and if you want to break that contract, you gotta pay.
Now, if it's about exploiting minors and forcing women to work as slaves then that needs to be addressed by law. If a person chooses this line of work, they should retain their profits. They should also be liable for any diseases they give to their clientele. They should also be able to set their own hours and choose their own clients without "management". Free market capitalism baby, gotta love it.

It's our puritanical roots. People flip out if they see less than a second of boob on TV. (Which makes you wonder why they don't flip out when the biggest boob is on television every day; maybe they like his phony Texas accent.) Actually most people didn't see anything and still flipped out. This society is all about denying any pleasure of the flesh because god told them to. Plus, if they can't have any pleasure, they want to make sure nobody else does.
And hippie's answer is bullshit. Just like any job, there are a percentage who want out and there are a percentage that love it.

It's illegal because of the fact that it's wrong and immoral. Of course I see why libs have a problem understanding that, being morally bankrupt and all.
My question is, if it's so OK, then you wouldn't mind you mother, sister, wife and daughter being whores. Think about it. You wouldn't want some fat hairy 50yr old truck driver paying your 18 yr old daughter for some anal action.

It's not illegal in Nevada. In the city limits of Vegas, it is, however.
