There is no expansionism going on today, yet, so there is a real chance for world peace, if we would just leave each other alone. The problem is, people are idiots and they bankrupt their countries (North Korea, Cuba, Somalia, Sudan) and they have to either 1) invade somebody to take their land or 2) rattle the sabers to draw attention and get some consessions (North Korea and Bill Clinton). So, to answer your question, yeah, sure.
