No particular method. Just show him/her around the area. Introduce them to all the employees in person and what they do. All the way from the CEO to lower staff. Explain certain things along the way that may entail into their position etc.... I don't know what you are asking I mean you want to throw a party or something for the employee. What happens if she/he quits 2 months later you lost money!!!!! Employees are disposable.

I have been the new girl a lot myself,
and have found what helps me the most is
when new co-workers are friendly.
They introduce themselves,
tell you the in's and out's of the job,
provide tips that aided their success,
and offer their help anytime I need it.
