Because i was a psychology student/ volunteer counselor i find myself analyzing.....?

Question

since studying psychology, and working as a counselor, i cant help analyzing people and situation, i have also become very good at using reverse psychology on other people, also i find myself reading people's body-language, i even have friends asking me what certain types of body-language means, and 9 times out of 10 i'm usually right about a person from first meeting them, my friends think i'm psychic....is there anyone out there who has any special abilities that they cant explain, and if so what are they?.

I am not a stdent of pyscology but im really good with it and i find my self anayalizing everything of wot ppl say and do -- i have a really good sence of understanding ppl - like when ppl tell me things they feel a conection with me-- and withoiught anyone doing anythign ro tlking i cnt tell there mood- i dont think there is anything wrong with it i think it is great -- and i think you are amazing for studing pysology coz at times it is very complex -- with me i know alot of ppl who study it and they cant work mr out coz im very good at knowing how to present my self coz i know wot means wot -- so i hope that helps- email me and IM me anytime- pinkfeverpink:yahoo.co.uk

I also studied psychology and I find myself analyzing people all the time. I think I used to do it more before, while I was in school. Still, I have a very good ability to empathize with people and be able to put myself in people's shoes. It's very easy to make quick judgements about people, but I don't think we can truly know a person unless we know more about their background. However, if your skill to read people is as good as you say, you should consider working for the FBI or become a detective. It takes a lot of training to be able to do what you can do.

I find in myself that things too, but I did not study psychology, just somehow when I meet people I can see them more then others do, I can understand them well, most time can guess what they think and want to say even if I dont know them, so well that once my friend asked me if I can read thoughts :)

well i dont think that u have any bad ability and u r not a psychic . i can say all this about u coz i also know a person who has the abilities same as u have. so i think u have a different ability than others and that's a very good feature.you may concider yourself as an exception in this world. but exceptions also do occur in this world so be happy for what you are...

I studied psychology and sociology also, so I feel I am exceptional at reading other people. Could be, we are more in tune to these things, BECAUSE we had the kind of interest or intuitiveness that is needed to be a good psychologist.
Could also be a GIFT.

I think that it can make you too introverted. you can possibly perceive too much about people, which isn't healthy in my opinion. In normal everyday life, people should not be made objects of study for others satisfaction and amusement. There are some things that people want to keep private, they will not open up when you are there.
Also you will not be good company because you won't really be listening to them, but trying to work out deeper underlying thoughts. You are studying them, which is very patronising.

I am a very sensitive and perceptive person, who often wishes that he did not perceive as much as he does about people. But I am not trying to study them.

You are just observant and well versed on non-verbal cues.

Studies of FBI agents and other similar professionals show that they are very good at detecting lies. You clearly have the same sort of skill/ability.

Also, you experience of over-analyzing everything is a common phenomena for psychology students. I went through it, though I was never as good at it as you say you are.

It may seem psychic because you can figure out what the next logical course of action would be.

I have some special abilities similar to yours.I can usually tell when a person is telling the truth or not.It is inexplicable to other people but it turns out that I am always right about other people.
