Do women like stupid men they can control or intelligent ones they can't?

Question

General observation that women tend to like men to contol so intelligent (or mabe educated ones) tend to be classified as nerdy and have trouble finding a partner.

I have dated men who are not as intelligent as I am and as much fun as that can be, it still left me feeling as though something was missing. I found that I much prefer an intelligent man, someone with whom I can have in depth conversations with, than being with someone I can 'control'.

You are right, it is easier to a certain point to live with a simple - not stupid- man than sharing your life with an intellectual.

Essentially it is a matter of making your life more enjoyable and easy going. The man who is busy with his work, watches sports and can fix everything at home usually helps to balance a complicated woman.
On the other hand, nothing better than being able to share your interests, hobbies, opinions. This does not exist with somebody simpler,less educated or less intelligent.

Intelligent men are extremely attractive....for clever women or very young ones but sometimes very dangerous since they can easily manipulate their partner, or simply they do not care much about the other and keep on going with their life as if having kids or being married were just one more drawer to open or close as necessary.
Everybody finds a partner if they really want. Finding out that what you thought it was the best for you turned in a nightmare is as common as couples getting divorced.

Hey Linda, In the long run the male's attributes do play a role in the relationship. A smart woman will seek a male figure she can can be compatible with but nevertheless that can provide for her. A male's adventurous canards may drive the woman wild but for how long? You women seem to be a more fragile and tender species( not to mention beautiful) that requires attention. So you're mischiveous boyfriend cheats on you, but thats' how you met him, he was a wild man. Now you seem to try and find comfort in someone more conservative to contradict what your ex was. So it all deppends on how long the female is willing to deal with the male. If the male is all around intelligent he will try and not have a conversation which may lead to a disruptive and vile argument. Now if the male is playing the part of an all around intelligent figure you will find yourself being yelled at because he thinks he's right. There are those who poses all these traits but they usually aren't very easy to find. I guess i would be considered Uneducated due to the fact that i only attended some college courses, but.... I have traveled to all corners of the world and have educated myself in many different ways. I have been through poverty,hunger stricken places and have had many life changing experiences which have instilled some knowledge in me along with 3 different languages and compassion for living. So in turn It ultimately comes down to what ever you women want at the moment and what soothes you.

Actually I would have to disagree with you, in a good way. My life experience wrote a different story. Nerds were easier to control, and those less intelligent and not so bright men were completely out of control.
I don't like either. The man I fell in love with and married is very smart and intelligent to recognize when I'm right. He is self confident and is able to say I'm sorry when he's wrong. He has great sense of humor and I love seeing his gentle side when he's playing with kids and I love seeing how strong he is when he is protecting his family. He is not afraid to give me honest answer, yet he knows how to tell me cute little lies like "you look beautiful" right after I wake up.

I don't think the question is about control at all...it is about self esteem and respect. Women want someone that they respect who also respects them in return. Some women, and men!, are all about control, but those traits should not be generalized to the rest of the species. Needing to have control means a person is filled with fear. Both genders contain individuals with those problems. Both genders also contain people who sincerely just want a mate to share life with...to grow old with...to share values and raise a family with.

Most of the time I find Nerdy, educated but outgoing guys hot. But I certainly like a fella who is well into the art of dominating a woman but with complete kindness and admiration for my female form. Yet outwardly, I don't normally second glance a nerdy guy on the street. Sad, very sad on my part.

Depends on individual but on an average they like to be controlled in a nicer way but not dictated. No woman wants less of a man so i am sure an intelligent man withthe right balance is the right answer.

A woman will marry a man she can (or thinks she can) control, but women in the dating parts of her life will want an intelligent man for those chats (you know). Whereas women after a one night stand don't care.

in my opinion women like to date bad boys when we are younger, but to be serious with, we like reliable guys, so the intelligent ones win out overall. Really though, good looking, intelligent men are the real catch. I myself, don't like men I can "control" I like men that can think for themselves and still respect the fact that I think for myself as well. So, the good guys do have a chance. LOL I'm happily married to a intelligent good looking man who respects me.

I don't know about the whole "control" issue, but I would much rather have an intelligent man. Dumb men really aggravate me.
