Use this link to download your favorite boot disk on floopy.

http://freepctech.com/pc/002/files010.shtml

Myself, I use the WIndows 98 bootdisk as it has CD Rom support if you need it.

Then at the command promt, type FDISK. Follow the instructions and delete any partition that you see listed.

Reboot the machine and the run FDISK again. This time, follow the prompts to create a Primary DOS partition. Reboot again, and from the A: prompt run Format C:.

You will now have a clean drive as you hoped for.

***** UPDATE *****

Once you boot from the floppy, you MUST run fdisk and check to see if your disk is partitioned. You run FDISK from the A: rpmt not the C: prompt.

From the sounds of you updated info, you now have an unformatted and unpartitioned disk.

Anytime you use a startup disk, you are going to be working in dos. It does not matter which operating system is used to make the startup disk.

On boot you will be on the A: drive. You will need to go to the drive in which you want to reformat. Most of the time it will be the C: drive.

Type C: then hit enter
Type fdisk then hit enter

Then follow on screen directions.

At this point if you dont know what you are looking at then you should stop right now. You could mess things up.

* If u can find a Win98 Bootable CD, Boot ur computer using this disk then use FDISK to delete all the Partations.
* In windows XP , format ur FLOPPY and click copy system files. IN this way u can create a winXP Boot Floppy, then Search for FORMAT.exe in c-drive and copy to Floppy, Boot ur computer with Floppy and then Format.
* Install Partation Magic, create emergency disk, boot from it and delete all the partation.

U can choose any of the above procedures... the result will be same...

GOOD LUCK DEAR... back up ur important data's first
