you can't stop them from waking up. it is what babies do! have you tried feeding her? they need fed every couple hours.

At that age babies still need to eat every few hours. The main thing is you don't want them to get night time and daytime mixed up. Start a routine of bath, bottle, book and bed when she goes down for the night. During the day make sure the room is quiet but not completely dark at night make sure it's quiet and completely dark. She will start to sleep longer stretches at night very soon and by 6 months she will more than likely be sleeping through the night.

Have you tried giving her a little more to eat before bed, and mixing in rice cereal. A lot of times when babies wake up at night it is because they are hungary. It sounds kinda like your baby just wants to be held a lot. Cut back on how much you hold her during the day. when she takes her afternoon naps make her sleep in her bed and fall asleep on her on. It might be hard at first but a routine will get her used to it. Also a tip don't let her take a long nap close to bed time try to keep her up. Sometimes a bath right before bed helps ease a baby. Hope I helped!

My baby is 11 months old and just started sleeping through the night last month. I learned that if I didn't pick him up when he cried and I just calmed him down by patting and singing to him he would eventually go back to sleep on his own. After a few days of this he actually slept all the way through the night. 2 months old is still a very young baby and she may still need to eat a couple of times a night, though.

You can't. Your baby is too young to sleep through the night and trying to make her will just make it worse. She needs to eat every few hours and her diaper will need to be changed several times as well. It is controversial when a baby is ready to sleep through the night but most doctors put it around 5 or 6 months. Sorry, but her system is just too immature to go that long without food.

Feed her later, and perhaps a little pop of light, rice cereal mixed in to keep her satisfied, perhaps.

Try a noise machine, generally under $20. Try leaving a very dim light on, like a closet light.

My babies were sleeping through the night by now, and I used the rice cereal idea, though only just a tad. You are the Mommy, and I feel for you, but you must do what is necessary to secure the health of your child.

You can't make her not wake up at night there is no way to manage that yuo can play music to help soothe her but stopping her won't happen. I have twins so i was usually up all night. When my oldest was little I would go in only a night light on I wouldn't talk to him I would diaper him and feed him then lay him back in bed and turn on his mobil or music toy it always seem to help and usually worked and he went back to slepp. Sorry to tell you shes not going to stop I got lucky and my twins started sleeping thru the night or 5-6 hrs around 3-4 months but you just have to hold out. Good luck just remember sometimes they just need cuddling and loving enjoy it. I know it is tiring but it won't last forever and one day you will look back and wish you could just sit with her. Babies can't takl to us and sometimes they get lonley and need love have you tried letting her sleep in your room like in a pack in play?? That could help. Well good luck with it and remember you can't make her stop crying. In about a month or so you could do a little cereal in her bottle but she is still a little young to do it yet.

There is *nothing* you can do to make a baby sleep when she isn't ready to. Most babies are developmentally ready to sleep through the night between 6 and 12 months old. And a very young baby (2 months is *really* young!!) needs to wake at night to nurse and because sleeping too deep and too long can lead to her dying of SIDS.

She's only 2 months. I know you need to sleep but be patient. She's not ready to sleep through the night or sit alone in a chair (bouncy chair or swing?) alone. At her age she still needs to be held a lot.

That is normal for that age when my daughter was 2 mos I was getting 3 hrs of sleep a night on average.
She is now 7 mos. and she still gets up 1-5 times a night, either she lost her binky, the music stopped, she kicked her blanket off or she woke up hungry.
I know, it's frustrating....
At 4 mos. it gets a lot easier, you can start feeding her cereal mixed with water, formula or breastmilk and that will help.
The sleep deprived mom's answer above is right on....a bedtime routine is really important.

When you feed her at night before going to bed, put a little bit of cereal in her bottle. It is normal for them to still wake up in the middle of the night though.
