At what point is it immoral for the media to either ignore a story that deserves attention, or not give it enough attention, simply because it wouldn't get as many viewers to watch or care? If you've seen the movie "Hotel Rwanda" you know what I mean.

I understand that it's a business, and they want to maximize profits, but I'm asking how far things have to go before a tragic story that should have been told, becomes immoral NOT to be told, if that makes any sense. I already know the media is currupt and all of that.

As soon as they do it once with issues concerning life/death/living conditions/health of any living being, I consider it's already immoral.

I even go as far as also consider immoral, on the other side of the matter, the paparazzi media. Just because they make millions and have an audience they can follow, intrude in their personal life and bother people?

Who owns the paper, television station or network? Is it worth it for them to publish something that might hurt another part of their corporation? Read as many newspapers as you can on-line. I can guarantee you will find many stories you may consider very important published one place and totally absent in other outlets no matter where you stand politically. One can only hope there will always be more outlets instead of a few giant corporations controlling the news.

I agree that they should cover certain stories, but it's also a business and they have to compete for ratings, etc. So, when it comes down to it, they're going tocover what is going to draw in the viewers because that's where the money is....and ultimately their paychecks.

Nothing is immoral to the media. It's all about ratings, sales, etc. The Almighty Dollar controls what we read, see, and hear.

As soon as you use the word media, it implies immoral behavior. Nothing is inappropriate to exploit for them.
