almost enough to make me believe in a god, do I take the 'money' (not actual money) and run or be responsible and not screw over my current employer? Nothing illegal, just if I leave now the school closes and they'll probably be pretty mad. Do I drop it all and do what I want or stay another month to be nice?

Sorry to be vague but it's too much to explain.

I don't have much love for the school and wanted to leave anyway. I feel a little bad for the kids, just cause they like me. They'll still get an education, I'm just like a private tutor.

Can you live with yourself if you behave a little unethical to get ahead? Does your decision go against your standards? I would weigh your decision carefully. Don't let your decision haunt you.

Its just one month. A fraction of a second in eternity. On the other hand, you are having some extent of power here. Power to change lives. What if that one month is all it needs to instill some inspiration into those kids? To make a difference in their lives? Sometimes, we keep thinking of what we want, what we cant handle and not the repercussions of our actions. I knew cuz when I was a kid, I had some people to look up to. And even a day was long enough to keep an impression of them in my mind until now. And it helped shaped me. Rethink, rethink.

How does that saying go? "Never burn your bridges, you never know if you will have to use it again." Or something like that. Anyway, the basic concept is true. You never know if you will be in the position to need this employer. unless their is something illegal going on, fulfill you part of your bargain with your current employer. It is the honorable thing to do. Give them timely notice and quit when your part of the bargain is over. If something illegal is going on, run like the wind, and don't worry about burning bridges because the employer is burning it themselves. Good luck.
