Yes, it does support Windows XP and you can install Vista though you may encounter driver problems when using Vista on it as Boot Camp burns drivers to a disc for Windows XP which may or may not be fully compatible with Vista but here is an example of a MacBook Pro running Vista, http://www.uneasysilence.com/archive/2006/06/6883/ but you can install Windows XP SP2 as well (only a SP2 installation will work). You will have to use OSX to use Boot Camp to partition the drive, burn the drivers to a CD and once that is done you can pop in the XP CD and begin the installation as you would on any PC.

As for the second part, getting rid of Mac OSX, you MIGHT be able to after you have installed Windows. The problem here is that I don't know if Windows can format an HFS+ partition. I don't even know if it can read data from a HFS+ file system (my guess is probably). OSX can read NTFS volumes but not write to them, I'm guessing Windows might be the same way with HFS+ volumes.

The point is you need OSX and Boot Camp to burn the drivers, it's not like you can just pop the XP CD in straight away and install it. But yes, you can install XP or Vista (not you may have the driver issues) and I'm not sure of formatting the OSX partition. But, OSX is what makes a Mac, if you want Windows XP only just buy a PC laptop.

Yes, it will work with windows OS. you won't have problems with the programs the only problem you may encounter is finding the drivers but i believe that it should be included in windows already.
