I think everyone's afraid when they start learning how to drive, I know I was. First, you will mess up. It's a learning process, everyone messes up, that's okay! :) If you don't have a driver's ed class at school, you should really take one somewhere. I think Sears still has driver's ed in some places, and there are probably local private schools where you're at. If you can't take a class, have a trusted adult(sometimes it's easier if it's not one of your parents) first take you around a big parking lot so you can get a feel for the car. If possible, you should practice and learn in the car you'll eventually be taking your test in. After you feel comfortable with the car, move up to small residential streets, then larger roads, etc. Also, most importantly, get a copy of your state's driving laws/rules. You can find it at the DMV or maybe in places like employment offices. Read and study, because the written test questions come straight out of the book. Good luck!

Well you just need to get behind the wheel and give it a go. Learning to drive is very stressful but you don't know how you'll do until you try it. Try not to stress about it too much, because it will not be productive and you need to be confident on the road. And remember that everyone has to start from somewhere, don't worry if it takes you a little while to pick it up, just keep getting back behind the wheel. Goodluck!

Just relax. You will do just fine. Some people fail a few times before they pass. No need to be so nervous, just believe in your self and try to stay relaxed.

don't be afraid, i am sure you will be great.
You just have to accept you are a little nervous, we all are and go about your business because it is the best thing to do.
First time i drove a car, it was a mess, first time i drove alone, i was a mess, not long later i did not even think about it.

Take a bus... : )
Just keep practising, you'll gain confidence. Tackle some side roads that are not busy, possibly later at night. Drive with confident drivers, and you'll learn.
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!
