There are plenty.
26th Jan, 15th Aug and 2 Oct are National Holidays.
Beyond this local public holidays varies from states to states. But in general following are holidays --
Holi (March), Diwali (Oct / Nov), Dusserah (Oct).

The list is almost endless There are National holidays State Holidays,Death & Birth anniversaries of Leaders,Deaths of politicians, act of terrorisms,Natural disasters,protests,elections etc etc almost after every 3rd working day there's a Holiday.
