She is one of my Fav singers!!!
Her highest note thus far was a G#7 (a few keys from the top of a piano) hit during two live performances of "Emotions" in 1991. Also, she has hit an A2 in her 1998 hit "My All," verifying her 5-octave range. Also, celebrity vocal coach Mark Raxter says that he has heard Mariah sing past the top note on the piano.
Voice
Carey can cover all the notes from the alto vocal range leading to those of a coloratura soprano,[59] and her vocal trademark is her ability to sing in the whistle register. She has cited Minnie Riperton as the greatest influence on her singing technique, and from a very early age, she would attempt to emulate Riperton's high notes, to increasing degrees of success as her vocal range expanded. According to most sources, she has a five-octave vocal range, though some credit her with as many as eight octaves.[56] In 2003 her voice was voted the greatest in music in MTV and Blender magazine's countdown of the 22 Greatest Voices in Music. Carey said of the poll: "What it really means is voice of the MTV generation. Of course, it's an enormous compliment, but I don't feel that way about myself."[60]

I'm not sure what the highest actual note is that she has reached, but I know that my dog has sat up with interest several times when her videos are on the TV... so I'd have to say she is somewhere in the range of dog wistle and infinity. Yes, I am envious. :)

Her highest note is G7 (in a live performance of EMOTIONS). This is just over a 4.5 octave range and is close to 5 full octaves, the widest range known to man.
