Do you clench your teeth at all? I do when I am angry or sad and when I am sleeping. My jaws hurt all the time and sometimes when I have had a very stressful few days, when I bite down it hurts in my ears like yours do. You should take an anti-inflammatory like Advil (Ibuprofen) now and again in 4 hours to reduce pain and any swelling. And right now you can use an ice pack on your jaw and ear to also reduce the swelling and pain. If the ice doesn't feel good then try using heat. You can use a heating pad, a warm wet washcloth or even a hair dryer set on low. If it doesn't get better in a few days then (like another answerer suggested) it very well might just be an ear infection. But even if it is, all of the suggestions I gave you will work to reduce the pain from that too. I hope you feel better soon and good luck at you game...I hope you and your team kick butt and win :)

It sounds like TMJ. Trace your lower jaw back and up to your ears. Muscles, tendons, ligaments attach the back of the lower jaw to the skull, near the ears. If you rub or press on the soft tissue where the jaw connects, and if you feel any discomfort, see a dentist. The jaw attachment is a very complex structure that has to allow for complex movement of the lower jaw. Teeth mis-alignment or past injury may be a factor.

There could be a sign of infection, or maybe a small cyst, some people have had small tumors.
It can also be inflammation in the middle ear area. This is the presence of fluid, typically pus, in the middle ear with symptoms of pain, redness of the eardrum, and possible fever.
So I encourage you to go see a specialist as soon as possible.
God Bless

Stop biting down on your teeth then. If this is a nervous compulsion, get a mouth gaurd like boxers use to protect your teeth. You might also need some anti-anxiety medication, as grinding your teeth is very harmful to them.
