Fresh fruits contain a lot of natural sugars. The amount of sugars varies. Melons - especially watermelon can be a source of a lot of sugar. Your blood sugar needs to be monitored closely when you eat these things. It would be a good idea to consult a dietitian to get the scoop on foods that contain hidden sugars that you might not be aware of and to learn how to eat to stay healthy. For long term health, it is extremely important that you learn to regulate your blood sugar and keep it under control.

While fresh fruit is better (lower glycemically) than fruit juice, some fruits are lower in natural sugar than others. It is a good rule of thumb that the sweeter the fruit tastes, the more sugar it has.

Bananas are among the highest.

Apples and berries are among the best, because they are lower in natural sugar.

This a good question! As long as you don't overdo it, fresh fruit is OK. Just don't get 5 lbs grapes or something and eat them in one sitting! Moderation is key, pick small portions and enjoy!
