For the same reasons that Japanese owners manuals are easier to read. They spend time on details that others overlook, and they consider what is best/easiest for the customer -- not just what is best for their own engineers. The Japanese are masters at making user-friendly electronic devices.

Everything in Japanese cars is better than in German or American cars, given comparable MSRPs. (with a few rare exceptions).

The Japanese "do their homework". They release products that work not products that require the customer to do the R&D for them.

No they do not my father works for mercedes benz and ive seen japanese nav systems and they are not even close in quality to the german cars..hope that helps.
