That would depend on 1) where the land is 2) what the land is capable of supporting and 3) what the farmer does with the land.
Generally all land has intrinsic value and being a land owner is better than not owning land; however, if the land is vertical, rocky, arid or unable to produce anything then the value goes down.

If the farmer has borrowed money to purchase this land then it is his net worth that needs to be calculated. The value of the land less the amount of the loan this will tell you what his or her net worth is. They will of course have other assets but if the farmer has borrowed more than the land is worth to purchase seed fertilizer etc then they will be stoney broke.
